However, it turns out that the company is looking to expand into the virtual reality realm – VR. So far, this area has only talked about Oculus Rift, meanwhile, Samsung plans to release Gear VR – its own VR helmet.
Photos have just leaked online showing a Samsung virtual reality device – to be named Gear VR. Official helmet to be unveiled At IFA 2022, Which this year will begin on September 9. For now, we can only talk about unofficial leaks of information via the SamMobile blog, but they are of keen interest.
The Gear VR is distinguished by its modular design – it will only work with a directly connected Galaxy line device docked in the helmet. The Gear VR itself does not have its own sensors, but will use the smartphone's accelerometer, gyroscope and processing power to track the user's head movement. We can also count on exceptionally good quality of the images acquired, as Samsung boasts great quality AMOLED displays in its devices – we are counting on the Gear VR to also impress with graphics.
In the process of developing software’s for the device, Samsung is expected to cooperate with rival Oculus VR.
The Gear VR itself looks comfortable to wear, thanks to an elastic band and padded pads inside the helmet. In addition, thanks to the button "see through" the user will be able to view what is happening around him in the real world without having to remove the helmet, which is an undeniable advantage of the device.
